The operating burden

Running the product is consuming the people who should be improving it.

Hosting is easy to buy. Reliable operations require ownership of releases, monitoring, security, recovery, suppliers, cost, and the decisions that connect them.

01

Operations depend on one person

Production knowledge and response live with a founder or engineer who cannot safely step away.

02

Tools exist without accountability

There are dashboards, alerts, and backups, but no clear owner for acting on them or proving they work.

03

Support interrupts the roadmap

The product team repeatedly stops planned work to handle access, deployments, incidents, certificates, and infrastructure.

What changes

Production operations with clear boundaries and a responsible owner.

The service is built around the product and its risk profile. Your company keeps ownership and portability while AlanOps runs the operating system around it.

  1. 01 Secure, documented cloud environment
  2. 02 Monitoring, alerting, backup, and recovery
  3. 03 Controlled releases and operational change
  4. 04 Regular reliability, security, and cost review

How we work

Managed does not have to mean locked in.

I assess the current system, agree the service boundary, close critical gaps, and create a managed operating model with documented ownership and exit paths.

01

Assess

Review architecture, access, operations, risk, cost, and support expectations.

02

Prepare

Close transition blockers and document the service boundary.

03

Operate

Run releases, monitoring, recovery, maintenance, and incident response.

04

Improve

Use production evidence to reduce risk, cost, and operational effort over time.

Operator proof

Useful questions

Clear boundaries make better engagements.

Who owns the cloud account, code, and data?

You do. The preferred model keeps core assets in client-owned accounts with AlanOps operating through controlled access.

Is this a 24/7 service?

Coverage is defined around the product, customer commitments, and risk profile. If specialist round-the-clock coverage is required, I will make that explicit in the service design.

Can we bring operations in-house later?

Yes. Portability and documented handover are part of the operating model, not an exit negotiation.

Start with the current truth

What would a useful first conversation need to resolve?

Share the situation, the pressure, and what has already been tried. I will review it personally and tell you plainly whether AlanOps is the right fit.
